A long time ago, I learned two valuable lessons in one weekend. The first night I learned More Sake, More Sexy. The next night, I quickly learned More Tequila, Less Sexy. But that’s a story for a different day.
I recently hit up a local hibachi joint, Osaka in Brookline. It was for a friend’s birthday but I never turn down an opportunity to head to this
place. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, the “show” is fabulous and you can’t beat the price. The food and the drinks are all very well priced, especially for a Japanese steakhouse. The chef’s here put on some of the best theatrics I’ve ever seen at a hibachi style restaurant. The restaurant itself is designed very sleek and is visually appealing. But the best part is definitely the sharp bar/lounge in the basement that features karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights.
Although, some would argue the generous squirting of sake into your mouth during dinner is the best part. The chef’s won’t relent until Sake is literally pouring out of your mouth into your lap. I can appreciate that kind of dedication to sake squirting.
I have never had the sushi but I hear great things. The presentation of all the food here is fabulous, including the sushi. This is a great place to go with a big group of friends. Specifically the type of friends who can catch flying zucchini in their mouths.
